Hypothetical situation.

You have suddenly found yourself followed and adopted by a puppy who seems to have an affinity for the shows on TV Land and randomly pouncing you, with the intent of licking your face.

What would be a good name for this hypothetical puppy?

bio! [12 Jan 2009|04:15pm]

Name: Thomas Jacob Vance
Goes By: Tom, but preferably not Tommy anymore.
Birthday: 9th March / Age: 29 / Height: 6'2" / Build: Skinny
Hometown: Scranton, Pennsylvania

1. Has had a few ill advised turns as "sexy" characters, like trying to play Lestat in Queen of the Damned (which was ill advised on several other counts) and his role in The Butterfly Effect (also ill advised on several other counts), but somehow managed to pull it out and be rather sexy in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. No one saw it coming and he somehow remains rather unaware of this.
2. Writes a blog on postcards, and posts it at thomasvance.org. His posts are often accompanied by his silly photos, his rather surreal pen and ink drawings, and his ridiculously optimistic attitude.
3. Has an extensive collection of music, and an appreciation for old school hip-hop.
4. Actually doesn't mind the trend of remakes and TV show film adaptations that's been seen in Hollywood recently; he likes comparing and contrasting and, if he weren't an actor, he'd probably be a film scholar. He kind of wants to see a remake of Cabaret get done, but that is very much motivated by his desire to play the Emcee.
5. He's gotten burned before -- pretty badly, at that. He acknowledges, in retrospect, that getting quickly "engaged" at 19 to the guy he had an on-screen relationship with in But I'm A Cheerleader was not really one of his best moves, but, to be fair, he didn't really expect to get cheated on either. Or to find the cheating on happening in his and Dante's bed, when he'd come home after a long day on the Remember the Titans set. Or for the other person involved in the cheating to be a girl. Or to be told, "What are you going to believe: what you see, or what I tell you?" by someone he thought respected him.
6. Active and vocal supporter of the LGBT marriage crusade.
7. Mostly over that gigantic blow to his general functioning, and he's had a few notable relationships since, but he's always very slow to get things started, just because he doesn't want to get burned again and risk developing a genuine fear of a real relationship over some bad experience or other.
8. Has been in mad denial of both his attraction to Fionn and Fionn's attraction to him for a good, long while now, mostly because of Fionn's playboy reputation.
9. Has one living parent -- his mother -- and his younger sister, Sarah. Dad never accepted The Gay, and Mom remains uncomfortable. Tom doesn't talk to the family much.
10. His puppy is named Captain Jack Sparrow. This is Fionn's fault.
11. Exceptionally contrary when it comes to popular opinions. He's not fond of Robert Downey Jr. either, after being in Tropic Thunder opposite him, and he doesn't think that RDJ deserved getting an Oscar nod for the sheer shock value and existential commentary of Kirk Lazarus.
